Whether you're travelling to Zante in the Greek Islands, also known
as Zakynthos, for a relaxing holiday, or seeking a holiday with a
difference in Zante, I am developing my 'Explore Zakynthos' Youtube
video channel will help you plan for the highlights of Zante island.
The Keri Caves, located on the south western coast of the island of
Zante, are one of the most popular things to see at sea! With crystal
clear, turquoise blue waters, and plenty of sea caves to explore, you
won’t be disappointed with a boat trip in this region. The white cliffs
in this area are really dramatic and the stunning arches coming out of
the sea make for fantastic photos.
The Diving School at Keri brings you out to the Keri Caves for diving
lessons because of the beautiful clear water, the deep sea element, and
the fantastic sea caves to swim in. Even if you don’t dive around here,
it is really fun to snorkel from the boat. The sea here is very deep,
with just a few little beaches accessible by boat only. Make sure you
pack your snorkel on your trip to the Keri Caves as this area offers
some of the most beautiful swimming on the island of Zakynthos.
Boat trips to the Keri Caves leave from a number of departure points
in Zante on a daily basis throughout the summer months. Often the Keri
Caves are included in the large, around the island tour boat trip. There
are also a number of boats leaving from Laganas and Keri that will take
you to see the famous caves.
Our favourite place to leave for the Keri Caves is from the Tropics
Bar at the Gloria Maris Hotel in the south west coast village of Porto
Koukla. From here the hotel runs a small, personal speed boat trip for
hotel guests and day visitors. The trip is really intimate and the boat
is small enough to take you right into the caves and around the sea
arches.
