Shopping in Zante
The shopping hours in Zakynthos Town are traditionally Mediterranean.
Shops and business usually open during the summer months between 9am and
2pm, following which everything closes down for mid-afternoon siesta and
lunch time.
Shops and services re-open around 6pm, normally closing at
around 9pm or 9.30pm.
Shops do not re-open
between 6pm and 9pm on the evenings of Wednesday and also on Saturday afternoon, and are closed
altogether on Sunday.
Sometimes, during the peak summer months of June, July,
August and September, the shops remain open for longer hours – but
it is wise to keep in mind these opening times when planning
shopping expeditions in Zante

In most of the resorts you will find that the shops are open
throughout the day and often late into the evening. Plenty of time to

range in prices, you will need to head out of your resort and into
Zante
Town. An evening of shopping in Zante Town will definitely be an
enjoyable holiday activity.
There is something for everyone in Island’s
many town – with everything from classy jewellery stores, to toy shops,
to fashion boutiques, to Italian shoe shops, to men’s clothing stores.
There are also lots of opportunities for buying souvenirs in some of the
more quaint traditional shops selling island ceramics and pottery.
With such selection, it is not surprising that
Zakynthos Town is
considered one of the nicest towns in the Greek Islands for shopping.
The shops are mainly concentrated on three parallel streets – Alexander
Roma being the main high street, with Foscolou and Terseti on either
side. With all of the shops relatively close together it is a very
pleasant shopping experience.
